Stop guessing your zones.
Start chasing your next PB.
Lab-grade VO2max and lactate testing for runners, HYROX athletes and fighters. Walk out with the exact heart-rate zones and paces that turn hard training into a faster, smarter race day. August 28 to 30 only, £125.
Takes 30 seconds to reserve. No payment needed upfront — testing led by Jack Braniff, MSc Sport & Exercise Nutrition, SENr & CISSN registered.
Why now
Not a mystery. Four clear steps.
Most people put testing off because they don't know what to expect. Here is the whole session, start to finish. It takes about 75 minutes, and this August window is priced at £125 — well under our usual combined rate.
Easy warm-up
You start slow on the treadmill or bike to settle in. We fit the mask and check you're comfortable before anything hard begins.
The step test
Effort rises stage by stage while the mask measures your oxygen use. You push until you hit your true ceiling — we coach you the whole way.
Lactate reads
A tiny sample is taken from your earlobe at each stage to map your lactate thresholds — a quick, near-painless pinprick, done in seconds.
Your 1:1 debrief
We turn the numbers into your VO2max, heart-rate zones and paces, plus exactly how to fuel and pace your next event.
Who it's for
Built for athletes with a date on the calendar
If you have a race, a HYROX heat or a fight coming up, guessing your zones is costing you. This is the fix.
5K to marathon
Stop running your easy days too hard and your hard days too easy. Get paces you can trust on the start line.
Pace the whole floor
Know the exact effort you can hold through the runs so you're not blowing up before the sled.
A gas tank that lasts
Build conditioning to real thresholds for championship rounds, not gym-bro guesswork.
From the testing bench
The moment the numbers make sense
"I'd been running easy at 5:40/km for two years. My threshold came back way lower. Every easy run I'd ever done was too fast. That was the moment everything clicked."
Half-marathon runner — tested for a spring PB"Three weeks after setting my sessions to the real threshold, my hard days felt controlled for the first time. I wasn't surviving them. I was training."
10K runner — chasing sub-40"Came in for lactate threshold and VO2max testing before camp. Genuinely knowledgeable and the debrief changed how I run my conditioning rounds."

What you actually walk out with
Two real results from the testing bench — the exact report format every August test includes: your VO2max, your thresholds, your personal zones, a lactate curve, and training sessions built around all of it.
Z1 · Z2 · Z3 · Z4 · Z5 — 134–176 bpm
Five bands, each with an exact pace and heart-rate range, from easy recovery through to true VO2max — not a formula guess.
Z1 · Z2 · Z3 · Z4 · Z5 — 155–194 bpm
A national-level engine, still pinned to the decimal — VT1 at 63% of VO2max, VT2 at 81%, and a race pace built from real physiology.
Blood lactate plotted against pace at every stage. Where the curve first bends is LT1; where it breaks away is LT2 — those two points set every zone you train in. Illustrative here; your test produces your own curve.
Session A — HYROX run repeats
8 × 1 km at 4:23–4:35/km · 90 sec standing recovery. Directly mirrors race run segments — teaches Harry to hit LT2 pace repeatedly after brief rest.
♥ 163–170 bpm · race run HR
August testing dates

Stop guessing your zones and paces — walk in with a plan built for your next PB. Perfect if you've got a race, HYROX heat or fight coming up.
Common questions
Do I book VO2max and lactate separately?
No — the £125 August price covers the combined session, giving you the full picture of your aerobic ceiling and your thresholds in one visit.
What happens if a day sells out?
Each day has a limited number of slots. Once a day is fully booked it's gone for this round — the next opportunity at this price will be a future testing weekend.
Is this only for competitive athletes?
No. The protocol scales to your current fitness — first-time runners through to national-level fighters all get valid, useful results.
What should I do before the test?
Fast for 1 hour before you arrive, avoid hard exercise in the 24 hours beforehand, and bring your normal training kit.
